Chicken Parmesan


This recipe transforms our crispy Better Patty chicken into a satisfying Italian dinner. It’s an easy weeknight meal that delivers all the rich flavour and melty cheese of the classic, with the convenience of a frozen product.

Ingredients:

For the Better Patty Parmesan

  • 4 Better Patty Chicken fillets

  • 1 cup jarred marinara sauce (your favourite brand)

  • 1 cup plant-based mozzarella shreds (or blend)

  • 4 Tbsp plant-based parmesan cheese (for topping)

  • 1 Tbsp fresh basil or dried Italian herbs (optional, for garnish)

For Serving

  • 8 oz spaghetti or pasta of choice
  • Simple side salad or steamed green beans

    Instructions

    Heat the Better Patty

    1. Preheat: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
    2. Bake: Place the four frozen Better Patties on a baking sheet. Cook for 10–12 minutes, or until fully heated through and extra crispy.

    Prepare the Sauce and Pasta

    1. Start Pasta: While the patties cook, start boiling the pasta according to package directions.
    2. Warm Sauce: In a small saucepan, warm the marinara sauce over medium-low heat. Keep it covered to prevent splattering.

    Assemble and Melt 

    1. Sauce Patties: After the 10-12 minutes of baking, remove the patties from the oven.
    2. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of warm marinara sauce over the top of each Better Patty.
    3. Add Cheese: Generously sprinkle the plant-based mozzarella shreds over the sauce and the patties.
    4. Finish Baking: Return the patties to the oven and bake for an additional 5–8 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted, bubbly, and slightly golden.

    Serve

    1. Drain the cooked pasta. Toss the pasta with the remaining marinara sauce.
    2. Place the pasta on four plates.
    3. Carefully place one hot Better Patty on top of or next to the sauced pasta.
    4. Garnish with a sprinkle of plant-based parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
